Plus Size Short Shorts

It being nearly February, all the styles on this page are in clearance, or on sale!

I sure to hope Rocawear and Dereon have new 2012 short shorts for us, and that Baby Phat gives it a try this year too!

It seems, in the warmer months, you will always find Bermuda shorts, Capri and cropped pants in full figure fashions.

Plus Size Short Shorts

I first wrote about full figure short shorts regarding urban fashions, because this year, 2011, Rocawear, followed by Dereon, (and now Apple Bottoms!), and Torrid had them first! Now I am finding some at One Stop Plus Stores, there is a bit of a pricing concern about the latter, you can read down the page a bit.

I aim to post the new plus size short shorts toward the top of this page, during the warmer months. I will go into details about them further down.

Other plus size short shorts, and shorter jumpers!

These Rocawear shorts are down to sizes 14 in the linen cornstalk color below and sizes 14 and 16 in their olive color.

These linen shorts are usually on sale, currently they are just $18!

This is the last of Rocawear's 2011 short rompers, down to size 3X and on sale, today 1/31, for $47.

Dereon has two pairs of denim short shorts too!

These Dereon short shorts are down to sizes 14 and 16 and are often on sale! Today, 1/30, they are $21!

Perhaps it's just me, but I believe, you might want to complete this Daisy Mae type outfit with Dereon's all cotton half shirt below. At least for around the house in the summer.

Why the interest in Short Shorts, in full figure sizes

I also focused on Short Shorts on our Inverted Triangle Shaped page, because, women with that shape tend to have slender legs, and hips. Especially if you are short and have on inverted triangle shape, Bermuda shorts just are not as flattering as short shorts!

MY Experience with plus size short shorts

Given that I am pretty petite, 5 ft. 1.5 in., the short shorts I am about to describe fall at just where my finger tips do on my legs. Not particularly short, yet better than I could expect, visually, from Bermuda shorts!

Two years ago, 2009, I brought, because I never saw them else where, Avenue's adjustable leg, twill like in weight, shorts, in every color in my size they had. This, sadly was only a white and pale yellow...

Neither white nor pale yellow are good colors for me, but I do enjoy the adjustable leg feature, they have good pockets, are comfy, and are no longer pale yellow nor white. Mine is an active life and stain removal is not my thing.

Last year, 2010, Avenue had a much lighter weight cotton short short style, which I snapped up in every color in my size and am wearing all the time in the heat. Even as I write this.

They are ultra cool and comfy, though wrinkle easily. They have faux adjustable leg cut and annoying button back pockets, the front pockets are fine.

They came in a good selection of colors, so that is how I got them, and so no stains have set in to become permanent!

Sadly, neither style has returned for the summer of 2011...but owing to last year, at least I am still well stocked, as in, I have a weeks worth of shorts if I want to wear shorts all week!

So that is the other reason for this attention to Short Shorts. All cut-offs aside, style never came anywhere near a choice, as there was little availability. There were other styles available, out of stock in my size by the time I saw them.

Thanks largely to urban fashion designers this year there are plenty of styles to choose from in full figure sizes!

Caution: Regarding the Price of Torrid shorts at One Stop Plus VS at Torrid

I have found, with regard to Torrid shorts at OSP, some styles may be less at Torrid than at One Stop Plus, on the same day. It pays to check before you buy!

I am finding no such examples  of this currently, but some things is always true:

• One Stop Plus' great discounts are not applicable to items shipped from the manufacture.

• Torrid, at OSP, ships from Torrid.

• Best to use Torrid's current discount which I will try to keep in this page's right column.
